What is Albergo Diffuso

Cà Spiga is the first Albergo Diffuso to be recognised by the Province of Como. Albergo Diffuso literally means “Widespread Hotel” and it is a different way to approach to hospitality. It was born already in ’80 in the north-east of Italy which was hit by a big earthquake. The aim was to build a new way of hospitality able to rebuild and bring back to life old and remote villages.

Albergo diffuso means being sustainable without destroying old and charming houses to rebuild new soulless buildings.

In the small hamlet of Torriggia Alta in Laglio, we have started the same adventure renovating an old family house. A couple of years later we have bought an even older house nextdoor to the just born Cà Spiga Bed & Breakfast which was counting only 3 rooms at that time.

From 2018 we are ready to host our guests with this new and authentic concept of hospitality thanks to our 7 rooms and one apartment located in this old stoned houses village.

We are pround and glad to have brought back to life places that were going to be abandoned.
